Description
This coaster from Falkirk, Scotland was gifted by a relative with a sense of humor in 2010 on a trip to see the family. The “sexy” Scottish men in kilts are a long-standing joke throughout Scotland, often seen in calendars or coasters. When I was a young child of about 10, I was caught looking at one of these calendars in a shop, and since then the family has given me inappropriate kilt gifts. It has become a conversational point for visitors to my home in the United States who are not aware of the “what you wear under a kilt” rule in Scotland… or what you don’t wear.
